Our Program:

Calhoun County RSVP is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service National-Senior Service Corps, a network of over 750 projects nationwide with over 450,000 volunteers age 55 and older, contributing more than 75 million hours of service annually. In Calhoun County nearly 360 volunteers give over 53,700 hours of service each year. RSVP matches volunteers with community needs. We base our referrals on the volunteer's talents, experience, interest and availability. The volunteers get to choose the hours, days, and times they are available to work.

RSVP works with over 50 community agencies to identify volunteer opportunities that most assist the agency to meets its mission. Following is a few of those agencies that work with RSVP volunteers:

  • Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, and Hospitals
  • Elementary and Middle Schools
  • Senior Centers, Community Chest, & Meals on Wheels
  • Welcome Centers
  • Adult Literacy Classes
  • American Red Cross
  • Other Stations are added as needed.
